Thank you. Wasn’t sure it would actually work; have been trying to use (and being unable to) the new block editor for a while, and reverted to classic editor, which has now gone completely. Annoyed and upset and very stressed.

Hi Viv, I can see your post, and I too hated the block editor. I cannot stand working in boxes, so I kept the classic editor.
You can add it as a plugin, and it’s easy. Just go into Plugins and ‘add new’ and type in ‘classic editor’ There are many that will pop up, and usually the first is the one that’s been downloaded most often. Mine has about 5million active installations and works fine.

I think they’re rolling it out to everyone one by one and the classic editor will only be supported till 2022. Time to bite the bullet, I guess.
